====== Atari 2600 ======

The Atari Video Console System 2600 was one of the first video gaming consoles to hit the market, at least that we noticed. We (that is, my brother and me) got ours around 1980, choosing it over a console from Philips.

We had several games, all controlled via joystick. Among these, Pac Man, Space Invaders, Smurf, Star Wars, River Raid, Combat (several combat simulations which could be played against each other), Super-Ferrari (race simulation). These also are the ones that made it to the present, I can't really remember if we had any other games.

What's certain is, the original joysticks did get a lot of abuse, and we had to get at least one replacement - but at that time, it was the one going with the newer version of the 2600, with a different look.
